The recent week was completely terrible due to the weather, but it conveniently cleared up on Fathers Day. The sun came out that morning and the world felt new again. We awoke earlier than usual, surprised Papi with his gifts while he was still in bed (a bamboo plant from me for good luck, and some reggae/muerenge/salsa music from mami and the kids). We usually go to Noon Mass, but we made it to the morning one instead and then spent the rest of the day on a boat in Long Lake.

I don't understand why the quality of these are so crappy, I apologize. Could have been the film. Could have been me.

I slept on the boat and darkened up, and in the evening we pigged out on Lobster. It was great.

It's ain't officially Summer until the American College of Surgeons have their annual meeting in Bar Harbor, Maine. WOO!

Honestly though, it's going to be great to spend the weekend downstate, on the coast, where it will be a bit cooler. I doubt there will be time for Acadia National Park, or actually going out on the water (we have to be here for Sunday for some family guests) but there will be croissants for Breakfast, scenic drives accompanied by music from the Beatles, and PICTURES!

Some day though, whoever is so inclined to join me, needs to accompany on a road trip to Acadia National Park, and Mini Golf at Pirates Cove, and croissants for Breakfast, and ugly run on sentences. Yeah buddy!

Taking hour-long showers isn’t a very encouraging habit, especially when you are attempting to be as productive as possible during summer. I’m a tad obsessive compulsive when it comes to hygiene, but last time I checked that isn’t too bad of a thing. Then again the very idea of all the other things that could have been accomplished within those seventy-five minutes ( +15 for brushing my teeth in the shower if you’re wondering) makes me not want to bother with time consuming personal hygiene issues.

So I suck at showering and therefore, I suck at being productive, therefore (all together now!) I SUCK AT LIFE!

I’m okay with that though.

My study habits are terrible, really now. What kind of person delays and idles about during the day, only to get 4 hours of sleep, in an effort to get his priorities finished?

Who's that Spartan with the guilty face! It's ME! It's ME!

I can't help but think however that it's not too terrible of a thing. I have a great amount of time to do the things I want to do AND get my business done. That's what matters in the end.

Besides, there are just too many distractions in the daytime. The yearning to go out and live, be under the sun, and make things vs. ..well, work. I work best in the dark morning, after a short rest. My mind is fresh and clear. I have not gone out and started the day yet so there really isn't anything for me to reflect upon, no reason to delay. I can just focus.

and that's the way to be.

Wow, spring shows much promise for fun!

Not like I will be attending all of the ones mentioned, but I can fancy the idea. My birthday is in May, so I might have a bit of extra money for a concert or two. I hope.

I'm in Art History right now, my favorite class concerning the subject matter and workload. My professor is a great guy, he's just one of those cats that are just so damn knowledgeable and full of insight. If he allowed me to I would just sit in front of him and allow him to drop knowledge on me minute by minute. He's a bit difficult to follow though, he's of Chinese descent and has a REALLY THICK ACCENT. Nevertheless, a great professor.

It's a bit upsetting to sit in class sometimes. Most of these cats have no interest in Art History. Hah. Excuse me, but just what are you doing at a Fine Art School? It really is a pity..

It smells. Real bad. Like dirty emo boy hair or something.

I'm flipping hungry. I had a great breakfast this morning after my 2:30 a.m. shower. I was still so damn full by the time I left for school at Seven, I didn't even consider packing a lunch. To make matters worse I didn't bring any bread with me. Bread as in money. Although the thought of a croissant right now is delightful.

When I get home I am making a tuna melt. On a poppy seed bagel. With Swiss cheese. Mmmmmmm.

I want to be able to see halos. That would be tight. I'd be modest about my ability and wouldn't tell anyone.

I have the window open and it feels nice. It’s a nice precursor to spring and summer time. Having the window open, and listening to my albums ever so lazily, allowing the Beatles or Coldplay to fill the alley between this building and the next. I like to imagine that someone will walk by and feel as still as I do right now. I think I have fooled myself to believe it’s April or May. Nothing can go wrong then. Nothing.

We were waiting for the tub to heat up, but Isaac and co. sabotaged it while our backs were turned. Luke being a fair sport to cute woodland animals and family members alike gave them 45 minutes to enjoy. Isaac however wouldn’t hear it. After the amount of time that Luke oh so graciously granted, he refused to get out and got a bit mouthy towards his seniors. Unfortunately for him Luke had a Dominican over that day, and in a joint effort Isaac Olsen was thrown into a snow bank.

Oh the comedy.

The shock on his face, the momentary lapse of all motor capabilities, and the saliva that unbeknownst to him hung from his mouth (approximately one foot in length) as he walked back inside, ULTIMATELY DEFEATED!

Hah. That's actually part of an e-mail I wrote to Matt O.

Hola 'migos. I'm ready to blog again.

These were pretty much the only two out of 48 pictures that came out okay. Not bad considering I had the ISO at 200. I really need to read that manual..

I came across this while catching up on my Renaissance Art.

The Dominicans were founded by Spaniard Dominic de Guzman (ca. 1170-1221). These mendicants renounced all worldly goods and committed themselves to spreading God’s word, performing good deeds and ministering to the sick and dying. The Dominicans in particular contributed significantly to establishing urban educational institutions. The Franciscans and Dominicans became very popular among Italian citizens because of their devotion to their faith and the more personal relationship with God they encouraged.

Woke up.

Got out of bed.

Brushed a comb across my head.

Hannah Gee came over and offered to cook breakfast for SEVEN GUYS! We made delicious three ham omelets (2 American Omelets and 5 Spanish ones), awesome toast, strawberries and bananas in cream, mashed green bananas (platano), fried Caribbean cheese, fried Spanish salami and drank it with mango nectar. It was fantastic, but we were already quite full from snacking on cashews and dried banana chips.

this is where the magic happens.
hah no, this is actually my bedroom. see how cleeean it is?

Well, it is official. I got accepted into

( MASS ART! )

as a sophomore transfer! Which pretty much means ALL of my credits have been transferred. I really didn't know what my chances were, I worked hard on my portfolio but it's pretty much most of the (mediocre) stuff that I have online. GRACIAS A DIOS!

I am still hungry, so take me out fools!

I have really great, inventive classes with unbelievable professors. I can tell right now that my favorite classes are going to be Digital Illustration (...vectors anyone?) and Photography.

I was always into photography, but I guess I never really got focused in it until this summer. I took a class in High School and actually didn't do too well in there. I don't really remember why anymore. I think I was still adjusting to moving to Maine and had issues with a professor with an old fashion state of mind. Back then I happily shot with a crappy digital and some disposable Kodak cameras. I still have a few shots from those days, some on my hard drive and some framed, from when they were exhibited at The Aroostook Medical Center.

My photography professor is a hip young guy, my coolest professor in college thus far. He obtained his masters at Mass Art (I’m considering transferring there sometime) and only decided to become a photographer after graduating from college as a geographer of some sort. He spent lots of time traveling around the Middle East, even spent some time with the Dali Lama. He's focusing now on Coffee Stains. Like the smudges at the bottom of a coffee cup. Which is crazy. AND INCREDIBLY COOL.

This summer I used papi's 35-millimeter SLR camera. It's a great old thing really, the same camera he used to take my baby pictures. I never thought anything that ancient could still be moderately functional today, but it is and the quality speaks for itself. I enjoy developing my own film but I'm most likely to get them done for me at 1-hour photo. No prints, always straight unto a CD and keep the negatives.

I prefer Film over Digital, but I’m now considering purchasing a Nikon D100. An SLR Digital camera. The quality is incredible for Digital and I would like the instant gratification of seeing your image seconds after taking a picture, instead of waiting for them to undergo the development process. Like I mentioned before, I never even get prints anymore just straight unto a CD. With a Digital Camera I wouldn’t have to spill any more money on developing materials. Of course this means raking up some serious $$$

Well, gee. This started off as a reply to Shannon, and I got a little carried away as you can see. /") _ ("\ sorry.
